This pair of 1535 side chairs were designed by beloved American furniture designer Paul McCobb as part of his Planner Group line for the Winchendon Furniture company. These chairs were introduced by McCobb in 1951 and are quite rare. Production of this model was stopped in 1953 partly due to the almost identical, less expensive Clifford Pascoe chair produced around the same time. The 1535 side chairs feature a bent birch wood seat and backrest supported by a welded wrought iron frame. The upholstered seat has been added for additional comfort upholstered in light blue woven cotton.
